German Shepherd Personality

German-Shepherd-Personality

When you have read dog personality you realize that German Shepherd personality varies widely because dog personality foremost is determined by dog-individual upbringing, not by breed.

Conversely, German Shepherd temperament is breed-specific and so pretty uniform. Because it is determined only by the inherited German Shepherd personality traits, and differences there are rather few and minor.

I am aware that different people see it different, but as academic cynologist I have to promote precise, clear, and consistent definitions (called disjunct definitions) to improve understanding, not mindless copying like elsewhere. mad

What is German Shepherd Personality?

German Shepherd personality is the sum of inherited and acquired behavior characteristics of a particular German Shepherd.

So obviously the dog personality traits of My German Shepherd must be different from the German Shepherd personality traits of YOUR dog.

Because socialization, the rest of upbringing, and life experiences differ between my dog and your dog.

All makes sense, right?

Thus in case you are absolutely not interested in My German Shepherd mrgreen then likely you are desperate to see the breed-specific German Shepherd personality traits that your (future) GSD has inherited too: German Shepherd temperament.

My German Shepherd Personality Traits

Again: These are the German Shepherd personality characteristics specifically of Miguel only, and as I personally see them today.

By "tomorrow" My German Shepherd will have had additional opportunities for socialization (never ends!) and will have made new (minor) life experiences, both of which would require a new consideration of dog personality traits identified specifically for My German Shepherd by myself.

Now to your dog - if you have one? Or if you kept a diary of your past GSD and so remember details?

What are until now, or what were the German Shepherd personality traits of YOUR DOG?

Discuss your GSD with honesty here.
