Initially we made use of GEO-targeting, just like Google do: Where relevant, you normally saw links leading to remedies in your geography. This was determined based on your IP address (the 'address' you use to access the internet).

In many cases the IP address however does not reflect your place of living (and you might intentionally wish to hide this and use a proxy server or VPN). In such case, obviously you were not able to see content that related to your place of living. All the same as with Google.

As of February 2013 we have scrapped the GEO-targeting approach. Because we find that it restricted our subscribers and visitors to getting items from their presumed geography only. Instead, we want to give you a choice.

As of January 2016 we have brought back the GEO-targeting approach in a better way: If you don't see any flag after a link to a remedy, then because your IP address suggests you are from the USA and so you can directly benefit from the standard link to amazon.com (the remedies that we review). If you see a flag after the standard link to a remedy, then it will be the flag of the country your IP address suggests you are from. NO other flags will be shown. Maximum one flag, presumably from your country.

The flag you see (unless you are from the USA) points to the relevant search results from your Amazon locale - unless your IP address suggests you are from a country with no Amazon web presence. In this case, you will still see your country flag (to allow you to verify why we link to what we link), but the flag will then link to the remedy on amazon.com so that IF you wish to buy the particular remedy you can buy it from the cheapest source (which typically is amazon.com, certainly for US products).

Yes, most of our remedy links point to Amazon. Love them or hate them, Amazon (for now) typically offer the best price since they have the worldwide biggest buying power.

Certainly very small compared to the effort we put in to identify, research, and describe the best remedies in each geography.

Note that one cannot buy our independent advice! Also note that Amazon passes on the tiny sales commission regardless which item you then buy. So if you prefer an item we haven't suggested, it really makes no difference to us!
