What Google ranks top for any variation of medicaldisorder definition is nothing short of appaling.
And as can be seen, its love affair with wikipedia is one of the reasons.
Then it's no surprise that from MD to veterinarian to medical journal, and of course on all those "medical blogs" too, both language and treatment suggestions are a jumble.
So again, let's aim to promote clear sensible terminologybecause this is so utterly important for sensible treatment:
Disorder is an acquiredphysiological dysfunction of an organ or body system that shows as over/under-production or over/under-utilization of a bodily substance, or an acquiredpsychological disturbance.
Be aware that the separate mentioning of psychological disturbance does not deny that it always may be the result of a physiological dysfunction that has led to an over/under-production or over/under-utilization of a bodily substance.
Instead, the separate mentioning serves the purpose to detail trigger and cause.
