And finally, here Google documents the popular variations of disease definition:

Disease Definition

No. We can be much more precise, and yet make it so much simpler!

So let's again aim for some clear terminology because clear terminology is a prerequisite for understanding, and:

Understanding disease is a prerequisite for cure!

What is Disease?

Disease is an acquired pathogenic change in bodily tissue.

Be aware that a "pathogenic change in bodily tissue" of course always is acquired, I link that word only because it gives helpful additional insight.

Keep in mind that only bacterial, fungal, viral, protozoal, or parasitic infections can constitute a disease, and so diseases can only be acquired!

Sic! We just had that. grin

Also be aware that the cause of a disease is not necessarily the identified bacterium, fungus, virus, protozoa, or parasite:

If a circumstance does not have the same effect on every organism (person or dog), it only is a trigger, while the cause is a different circumstance.

Likely an immune system disorder resulting from a chemical substance (in medication, "food", household, or environment), from poor diet (nutritional deficiency), or from vaccination.
